In an effort to make a contribution in the memory of Harry Dunn, the suspect in his death would do community service.
Anne Sacoolas tragically collided with the 19-year-old motorcyclist after she had driven “instinctively” on the right-hand side of the road. Following the crash in August 2019, the US government asserted diplomatic immunity on behalf of the 43-year-old.

Her lawyer, Amy Jeffress has said that her client “never denied that this [the collision] was her fault”.
“We understand that community service is a typical sentence for offences like this,” Ms Jeffress said.
“We have offered ever since over a year ago that she would be willing to serve that kind of a sentence and to make a contribution in Harry’s memory, to take other steps to try to bring some peace to the family.”
Sacoolas` lawyer said her client was willing to meet with Mr Dunn`s family and give them any information they required and give the “some measure of peace“.
“Anne is truly sorry for Harry’s family and the pain that this has caused,” the lawyer said.

Ms Jeffress also said in the US a case like this would not be treated as a criminal offence unless there was “evidence of recklessness that rises to the level of close to intent – drunk-driving, distracted driving, a hit-and-run situation or excessive speeding … But there was none of that here”.
