Novak Djokovic, the second seed, triumphed over the Italian eighth seed with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), bringing him within one victory of matching the record for his eighth men’s title.

The 36-year-old Serbian player also has the opportunity to claim his 24th major title, equalling the current record.

In Sunday’s final, Djokovic will face either the Spanish top seed Carlos Alcaraz or the Russian third seed Daniil Medvedev, both of whom are vying for their first final appearance at the All England Club.

This will be Djokovic’s ninth Wimbledon showpiece and an unprecedented 35th Grand Slam final.

Notably, he has not lost a completed match at Wimbledon since 2016 and has remained unbeaten on Centre Court since 2013.

Reflecting on the semi-final match, Djokovic acknowledged the fierce competition from his opponent, Jannik Sinner, praising him as one of the leading players of the next generation and emphasizing that age should not be seen as a hindrance to success.

“I guess 36 is the new 26,” Djokovic remarked.
