The young man is said to have gunned down his 50-year old mother, Maxine Davison first at their home in the Keyham area of Plymouth, Devon.

Lee Martyn a 43-year-old dad was Davison`s next target who died while trying to protect his 3-year old daughter who also died on that fateful night.

Those who witnessed the tragic event say Mr. Martyn tried to shield little Sophie with his arm when Davison shot him in the back. The pair tried to escape in vain and died after being shot twice or more at close range.

“A man was running with his little girl who was pushing a toy pram as she ran. There was no noise or screaming, they were just running,” one witness said.

“This bloke with the gun stopped about 15ft from them, raised his gun to his shoulder, and shot the man in the back. He fell on to his daughter, protecting her even though he may have been dying.”

Davison went on to target Stephen Washington, a 59-year-old who was out walking his dog, and Kate Shepherd a 66-year-old who sustained serious injuries and later died in hospital.
