Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has revealed that she and her long-time partner Joe Sugg have welcomed their first child together.
The dancer first shared news of her pregnancy in September, shortly before the latest series of Strictly began, where she was partnered with fellow Australian actor Stefan Dennis, known for his role in Neighbours.

On Wednesday evening, the couple confirmed the arrival of their son through a joint Instagram post, announcing he was born on Monday. They have named him Bowden Mark Richard Sugg.
“Never felt a love like it,” they wrote, alongside a series of touching images, including a photo of their newborn peacefully asleep, as well as intimate moments of Dianne in her hospital bed and Joe carrying their son home.

The couple’s announcement quickly drew attention from fans and fellow celebrities, with the heartfelt images offering a glimpse into their first moments as parents.
Dianne and Joe’s relationship began during the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing, when Joe competed as a celebrity contestant. The pair were partnered together on the show, reaching the final before confirming shortly after the series ended that their on-screen partnership had blossomed into a real-life romance.

Throughout her time on the BBC dance competition, Dianne has performed alongside a range of well-known partners, including Reverend Richard Coles, Dev Griffin, Max George, Robert Webb, Tyler West and Bobby Brazier.
One of her most notable partnerships came with comedian Chris McCausland, who became the show’s first blind contestant. The pair went on to win the Glitterball Trophy in 2024, marking a historic moment for the programme.
Their performances also earned critical acclaim, including a TV Bafta in the Most Memorable TV Moment category for their Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Dianne Addresses Dancing While Pregnant On Strictly
During her pregnancy, Dianne spoke openly about continuing to perform on Strictly, explaining that she had taken medical advice before deciding to remain active in the competition.
“I’m still doing everything I did before. Obviously, with lifts, there’s going to be a bit more caution. But my doctor has said everything is normal,” she said.
“He said, basically, if you’ve done it before, in terms of being a dancer, and you’ve done this, done that, then crack on and keep doing what you’re doing.”
