The controversial rapper Ye has seen further live performances across Europe cancelled in the wake of the fallout surrounding his scrapped appearance at London’s Wireless Festival.
Earlier this month, organisers announced that Ye — formerly known as Kanye West — would headline all three nights of the festival at Finsbury Park in July. The announcement triggered significant backlash linked to the artist’s antisemitic remarks and behaviour in 2025, prompting intervention from the British government, which blocked his entry into the UK.
As a result, Ye’s scheduled appearance at Wireless could not proceed, leading to the cancellation of the entire event.
European Tour Dates Cancelled After Wireless Festival Fallout
In the days since, additional performances tied to Ye’s European plans have also been withdrawn. A show scheduled for June at Poland’s Silesian Stadium has been cancelled for “formal and legal reasons”, according to organisers.
Meanwhile, Switzerland’s FB Basel confirmed it would no longer host the artist. In a statement, the organisation said: “FCB received an enquiry and considered it.
“However, after thorough review, we have decided not to proceed with the project, as we cannot, in accordance with our values, provide a platform for the artist in question within this context.”
Controversy Surrounding Ye Continues To Impact Global Performances
The cancellations follow widespread condemnation Ye faced in 2025 after praising Adolf Hitler, declaring himself to be a Nazi and selling a T-shirt featuring a swastika on his website.
He later released a single titled Heil Hitler, which was broadly criticised, and subsequently had his Australian work visa revoked.

In January 2026, Ye — who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder a decade ago — issued a public apology in a full-page magazine advertisement addressed “to those I’ve hurt”. He stated that his antisemitic remarks occurred during a prolonged manic episode in which he had “lost touch with reality”.
More recently, the artist announced he would postpone a planned performance in Paris following reports that French authorities were exploring options to prevent the event from going ahead.
