US-Israel Strikes Hit Iran As Tehran Launches Retaliatory Attacks Across Middle East

Two US officials told NBC News there had been no reported American casualties. The Revolutionary Guard said it considers "all US bases, resources, and interests in the region to be legitimate targets" for retaliation.

Joint military strikes by the United States and Israel have hit multiple locations across Iran, prompting Tehran to fire missiles at American targets throughout the region.

According to posts on Telegram from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Kermanshah and Qom were among those targeted.

Sites reportedly struck include the residence of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with the country’s intelligence ministry, defence ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, according to information obtained by Sky News.

Major Iranian Sites Hit As Casualties Reported

Satellite imagery from the leader’s compound showed black smoke and heavy structural damage, with at least four buildings affected. An Iranian official said Khamenei was not present at the time of the strike.

Iran’s Health Ministry reported that more than 60 students were killed and a further 80 injured when a girls’ school in Minab, in Hormozgan Province, was hit.

In response, Iran launched simultaneous strikes on four American military facilities across the Middle East.

Iran Targets US Bases Across Gulf Region

The bases named were Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, and the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

The strike on the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet hub was also confirmed by Bahrain’s state news agency.

Sally Lockwood, reporting for Sky, said a loud explosion was heard in Dubai, where footage showed missiles being intercepted in the night sky.

Social media clips also showed a fire near the entrance of the Fairmont The Palm, reportedly caused by falling debris during the missile exchange.

Officials said at least one person was killed in the UAE. In Syria, state news agency SANA reported four deaths after a missile struck a building in the country’s south.

In Kuwait, several workers at the country’s only commercial airport were injured when a drone damaged Terminal 1, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Sky News Europe correspondent Alistair Bunkall warned the Tehran leadership “will not roll over and will die fighting if needs be”.

The escalation follows confirmation from Donald Trump of what he described as “major combat operations” against Iran in an eight-minute video posted on Truth Social.

The US president also called on Iranians to rise up against their government, saying: “When we are finished, take over your government, it will be yours to take”.
