Nigel Farage has drawn criticism online after choosing to mark English Tourism Week with a visit to his own constituency, Clacton-on-Sea.
The Reform UK leader shared a video on Sunday evening showing himself walking around the seaside town and interacting with residents. The clip was intended to highlight the area as a destination for visitors during the tourism campaign.

In the footage, Farage says: “This week marks English Tourism Week, and where better to come for a day out, rain or shine, than Clacton.
“Miles of sandy beaches and this six and a half acres, the biggest pier space in the whole of Europe. Things for people of all ages to do.
“I promise you, come to Clacton, it’s a great day out – and there’s lots of hospitality, too.”
Online Reaction To Nigel Farage’s Clacton Tourism Video Sparks Debate
The video quickly attracted attention on social media, where critics questioned the choice of location for the tourism promotion. Many users mocked the decision to spotlight his own constituency rather than a broader range of destinations across England.
The reaction comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Farage’s presence in Clacton since securing the seat after multiple attempts. While he has maintained that he spends a “couple of days a week” in the constituency, some opponents have continued to challenge that claim.
Farage Travel History And Political Criticism Resurface
Recent trips abroad have also kept Farage in the spotlight. His visits to the Maldives, including an attempt to access the Chagos Islands, as well as a stop at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, have been widely discussed by political rivals.

Prime minister Keir Starmer has previously taken aim at these international trips, using them to question Farage’s focus on local responsibilities.
Although the latest video demonstrates his presence in Clacton, promoting the town as a destination during English Tourism Week has intensified online criticism, with some commentators suggesting the move missed the mark.

Think it says it all that Nigel is only visiting for a tourism week because that's all he is to the town. https://t.co/EbD486Z3mJ
