Emmy Award-winning actor Kiefer Sutherland has been arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly assaulting a ride-share driver, according to police.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said the London-born Canadian star entered a ride-share vehicle at around 12.15 am on Monday in Hollywood (8.15 am UK time). Officers allege that during the journey, Sutherland “physically assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats.”
He was later released after posting a $50,000 (£37,300) bond and is scheduled to appear in court on 2 February.
Los Angeles Police Launch Investigation Into Alleged Incident
Police confirmed that the driver was not injured during the alleged altercation, which reportedly took place at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

The LAPD’s Hollywood division is now handling the investigation as enquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Kiefer Sutherland Career Highlights and Past Legal Issues
Sutherland is widely recognised for his portrayal of Jack Bauer in the hit Fox drama series 24, a role that earned him an Emmy Award. He also starred as President Tom Kirkman in the political thriller Designated Survivor.
In 2007, the actor was sentenced to 48 days in jail for driving under the influence after failing a sobriety test.
Sutherland is the son of renowned Canadian actor Donald Sutherland and has enjoyed a decades-long career in film and television.
