Zara Tindall Gets Emotional In Heartfelt Interview With Husband Mike

The Olympic medal she won with him held a special place in her heart, as it was a tribute to the horse's owner, Trevor Hemmings, who sadly passed away in 2022.

In a candid and emotional interview on her husband Mike Tindall’s YouTube series, Mike Drop, Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, opened up about her sporting achievements and the emotional journey that accompanied them.

The former rugby player’s podcast provided a platform for Zara Tindall to reflect on her equestrian successes and the deep connections she formed along the way.

Zara, who won two gold medals on her senior debut at the 2005 European Championships, an individual gold and team silver at the 2006 World Equestrian Games, and a team silver at the 2012 London Olympics, spoke passionately about her horse High Kingdom.

The Olympic medal she won with him held a special place in her heart, as it was a tribute to the horse’s owner, Trevor Hemmings, who sadly passed away in 2022.

Fighting back tears, Zara expressed her gratitude for being able to bring High Kingdom to the Olympics, saying, “Trev – Trevor Hemmings – has won so many amazing things in his racing career, Grand Nationals and things like that.”

She continued, “But to see his face at the Olympics and to get that team medal was amazing. And to be able to give something back to him when he had supported me for so long was incredible. I’m going to get emotional.”

Zara’s husband, Mike, acknowledged her selflessness and dedication to her horses and owners. He highlighted how she always prioritizes their well-being, sometimes at the “detriment” of her own. “You will train a horse before you train yourself and you will make sure the horse is right before you do it to yourself,” he lovingly remarked.

The conversation also touched on the challenges of motherhood and Zara’s desire to get back in shape after giving birth to their three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas.

Zara shared her struggles with “mum guilt,” feeling torn between her responsibilities as a mother and pursuing her own passions. She admitted, “I found it hard getting myself back to it. Mentally, you feel guilty as a mother leaving your child to go and do something else.”

However, amidst the emotional moments, Zara hinted at a possible Olympic comeback, fueled by her desire to win a gold medal. She shared with Mike, “I mean, I’d love to win an Olympic gold so that’s probably driving me at the moment. I’d love to go to another Olympics.”
