The government of Scotland has confirmed that another 50 people have sadly passed away in the past 24 hours due to the COVID_19, bringing the total number of deaths to an increase of 126 people in Scotland. That is a 66% increase in one day.
The government of Scotland said that 2602 people had tested positive with the virus.
Health officials said that the number of people who have sadly passed away in Wales due to the COVID_19 is 117, an increase of 19.
Incident director for the COVID_19 outbreak response at Public Health Wales, Dr Robin Howe said that:
“284 new cases have tested positive for COVID_19 in Wales, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,121, although the true number of cases is likely to be higher. Nineteen further deaths have been reported to us of people who had tested positive for COVID_19, taking the number of deaths in Wales to 117.”
He added: “We offer our condolences to families and friends affected, and we ask those reporting on the situation to respect patient confidentiality.”
In the UK hospital deaths have increased by 569 to 2,921. The Department of Health said that a total of 2,921 patients have sadly passed away in hospital after testing positive for the COVID_19 in the UK, these figures are as of 5 pm on Wednesday. An increase of 569 from 2,352 the day before.
