The track and trace system is officially introduced to the UK public, as promised by Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock. The system is officially launched within Scottish and English territories, amid the latter’s easing of lockdown restrictions.

After months of trying to find conducive solutions to an on-going pandemic, the English and Scottish governments (considering the remaining constituents of the UK are not all ready to introduce their system) have officially launched a track and trace system in an attempt to decrease the severity of the coronavirus pandemic.

The track and trace system was announced a few Months ago by the Prime Minister and was expected to be introduced around June, this has become a reality as the English and Scottish governments have provided the public with the tracking system 4 days shy of its initial release.

The system will be operating with both human and technological intervention, with the duty of human trackers being efficient and quick with tracing individuals who have been tested positive for the coronavirus and are therefore obliged to give the tracker details on who they have had contact with recently, and to provide personal contact information of that person.

In addition to this, these individuals will be required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days, including their household members. If the person that they came into contact with does not test positive for the virus, they will be allowed to continue with their normal activities and not have to self-isolate.

Having officially introduced the track and trace system to English and Scottish societies  this will hopefully provoke a substantial decrease in the number of vulnerable individuals in the UK.
