Sydney Sweeney isn’t holding back. The Euphoria star has finally addressed the swirl of plastic surgery rumours that exploded after a viral online moment compared her look to a so-called “MAGA makeover”.
The actress has been at the centre of countless headlines lately, especially after her controversial American Eagle “good jeans/genes” campaign sparked major backlash in July.

The drama escalated when both Donald Trump and the White House backed her, and she was later reported as an alleged registered Republican — a revelation that only fuelled the internet firestorm.
Now, in a new interview with Allure, Sydney and her co-star Amanda Seyfried were asked to “debunk” a “beauty rumour,” giving the star the perfect moment to address the speculation head-on.

Sydney Sweeney Denies Ever Having Plastic Surgery
Without hesitation, Sydney made her stance clear, “Let’s debunk them all. I have never gotten work done,” she insisted, adding to Amanda, “I am so scared of needles. You have no idea.”
The star also took aim at social media sleuths, comparing old photos of her to recent red-carpet snaps. “You guys, you cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting,” she said. “Of course I’m going to look different.”

Taking an even firmer swipe at her critics, she added, “Everybody on social media is insane.”
Star Says Childhood Injury Explains Asymmetry
Sydney went on to argue that if she had undergone cosmetic work, her “face would be even”, claiming one eyelid “opens a little more than the other” because of a wakeboarding accident from her childhood.
This isn’t the first time the actress has spoken about beauty pressures. In an October interview with Variety, she revealed that someone once told her to change her face if she wanted to succeed in Hollywood.
“I have very strong eyebrow muscles,” she said. “And I had someone tell me to fix my face, or else I’m not going to make it. I should get Botox. I was 16!”
