Mahrez opened up the onslaught on Aston Villa scoring the first two goals of the game for Man City in the 18th and 24th minutes of play.

Sergio Aguero scored his record-tying goal in the 28th minute putting him level with Thierry Henry as the highest overseas goalscorer in Premier League history.

Gabriel Jesus then came in with the fourth goal for Man City just before the half time break.

Aguero then went to rewrite the history books as he got his hattrick having scored in the 57th and 81st minute of the second half.
