Senior adviser to the Prime Minister Dominic Cummings breached lockdown measures by travelling to his parents residence this then spurred absolute outrage from the conservative party members, who have now demanded that Mr Cummings quit his position as senior adviser.

Upon the revelation that Mr Cummings had breached lockdown measures as soon as they were enforced, members of parliament initially called upon the Prime Minister to carry out the duty of firing Mr Cummings as his official senior adviser.

However, this duty has now been shifted to Mr Cummings, as he has been advised to quit his job by opposing conservative members, of those members is Tory MP Steve Baker who can be quoted demanding that Mr Cummings voluntarily resigns as senior adviser.

“If he doesn’t resign we’ll just keep burning through Boris’ political capital at a rate that we just couldn’t ill-afford in the midst of this crisis” said Mr Baker.

The Tory MP further explained that the double standards that could possibly arise if Mr Cummings would not quit his position as senior adviser would be detrimental to the integrity of the conservative party.

It has been alleged that Mr Cummings broke lockdown regulations on multiple occasions having been spotted by several witnesses around Durham and the North East area, however these allegations have not been properly dealt with by government or police officials.

Despite the backlash, Dominic Cummings continues to remain in his position, as senior adviser, in a brief statement he justified his actions as being “reasonably and legally” carried out. Though pressured to quit, it does look like Mr Cummings will most likely continue to carry out his duties as senior adviser.
