Russell Brand’s wife, Laura Gallacher, is reportedly remaining loyal to her husband following his conviction for rape and sexual assault, according to claims attributed to friends. The 51-year-old entertainer faces a lengthy prison sentence after a jury at Southwark Crown Court found him guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. Reports suggest Gallacher is considering returning to the UK with their three children rather than remaining at the family’s Florida property.
Russell Brand’s Wife Laura Gallacher Reportedly Plans UK Return
According to The Sun, Gallacher, 39, is expected to return to the couple’s home in Henley-on-Thames after the family relocated to Florida in 2024. The reported move would allow her to remain closer to Brand as he faces the prospect of imprisonment. However, the plans have not been publicly confirmed by Gallacher.
A friend reportedly told the newspaper that Gallacher continues to support her husband despite the convictions and the scrutiny surrounding the case. The source said she had believed Brand’s account of events and had remained by his side throughout the legal proceedings.

“She believed what he told her and has stood by him this entire time. As his wife, her loyalty is with Russell. And he undoubtedly will need her support more than ever now.
“The people closest to her believe she is going to stay in the UK and wait for him. But right now, this is all incredibly fresh. It’s a living nightmare at this moment.”
Laura Gallacher Reacts To Russell Brand’s Guilty Verdict
Gallacher is said to have been devastated by the verdicts delivered at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday. She was seen hunched over in the public gallery as Mr Justice Bennathan explained that Brand faced a lengthy prison sentence. A security guard reportedly helped her as she left Court Three following the hearing.
Brand spent his first night at HMP Wandsworth on Friday after his barrister, Ian Winter KC, failed to secure bail for the weekend. Winter had asked the court to release his client as an “act of humanity” so he could say goodbye to his children. The judge refused the application, and Brand remains in custody ahead of sentencing.

Brand denied all seven criminal charges brought against him during the trial, including three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent assault. After almost nine hours of deliberations, the jury convicted him of four sexual offences while finding him not guilty of two counts of rape and the attempted indecent assault charge.
The entertainer told Gallacher “I love you” after entering the dock to hear the verdicts. He displayed little visible emotion as the jury announced its decisions.
Russell Brand Trial: What Laura Gallacher Told The Court
Gallacher gave evidence during her husband's trial, describing him as a caring partner and father who respected her wishes throughout their relationship. She told jurors that the couple first met in 2007, separated later that year and eventually rekindled their romance in 2015. They married in 2017 and have three children together.
“I felt entirely cared for and looked after by Russell,” she said, adding that if she did not want to do something, Brand “respected my view”.
Describing her husband, she told the jury: “Russell, my husband, is caring, he is kind, he is a wonderful father to our children.
“He is an amazingly attentive husband. The way he treats me is to really know me. I feel very seen by him in every way. I love him very much.”
However, Gallacher also explained that their initial relationship ended because she was uncomfortable with his relationships with other women. She told the court that although they had expressed their love for one another, she felt he struggled to remain monogamous.
“I was invested, we both had told each other we loved each other but it was clear it was difficult for him to be monogamous,” she said.
“I wasn't interested in having a relationship with him if he was sleeping with other people.”
Gallacher said the pair remained friends during their separation, including while Brand was briefly married to singer Katy Perry. They later resumed their relationship in 2015 and married two years later.
Asked whether she knew about Brand's sexual relationships with other women during their time apart, she told the court: “I was very aware of it. I could read about it regularly in the papers, so I was aware of it and he also told me.”
Brand's convictions and forthcoming sentencing have placed renewed attention on the family, while reports about Gallacher's future plans remain based on accounts attributed to people close to her.
