Ricky Gervais has both written and directed the series and has received positive reviews since it first debuted in March 2019, fans thought there would not be a season three but are grateful that there is.
As it is known that Ricky has most often ends his shows after two seasons but he previously did hint that he had ideas for a third season of ‘After Life’.
Ricky told Digital Spy: “I don’t know about season three. But what I’ve said is, for the first time ever, I would do a season three because the world [in the show] is so rich.”
“I love the characters. I love all the actors in it. I love my character. I love the town. I love the themes. I love the dog. So I would do a third one. But it’s got to be a real – it’s got to be a real demanded-for encore. I’m not going to just do it.” – he added.
One fan eagerly asked Ricky if the whole of season three of the series had been written or just the first episode, to which he replied: “Just ep 1. The rest are getting there though.”
Ricky has been adding more to his work as he teased this morning that he came up with a great joke and is done for the day.
“Just wrote a joke for Brian Gittins to tell in #AfterLife3. It’s so good I’m counting it as a day’s work.” – He tweeted.
