In the early hours of Sunday, the police found a lifeless body of a 10-year-old boy outside an address in Acton, west London.
Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene in Cumberland Park where they discovered a dead body after a woman arrived at the police station to speak to officers. Detectives from a specialist crime unit charged a 40-year-old woman, Olga Freeman, with the murder of the youngster, Met Police said.
Most of the neighbours were devastated by the death of the young man. A 61-year-old reactor of Action and resident of Cumberland, Reverend Nick Jones, expressed that the news of the killing of the youngster on Sunday was “shattering”.
“I’m still shaking a bit, it’s hugely upsetting,” he said.
Another male resident also said that the tragic incident has left him “in shock”.
The police believe that the 10-year-old victim was known to Ms Freeman. Scotland Yard said it knew the identity of the boy but awaited formal identification. It has been confirmed that the victim`s family members were informed.
Olga Freeman of Cumberland Park, W3, is due to appear before Uxbridge Magistrates` Court later.
The constant increase in the level of crime across the country remains a matter of concern.
