Victoria Monét released a new uplifting single with Khalid and SG Lewis titled ‘Experience’. The song was meant to be released last week but Monét posted on social media stating that due to the pandemic and horrific state the world is facing that the song was pushed to being released this past Friday, June 19th.

‘Experience’ was released as part of Monét’s pre-order of her album ‘Jaguar’ which is set to be released on July 31st, 2020, via Tribe Records and Platoon.

John Legend gave his fans a different type of love album as he released ‘Bigger Love’ on June 19th, which is four years after the release of his last album ‘Darkness and Light’ in 2016.

“Actions speak louder than, speak louder than love songs,” John Legend sings on “Actions,” a highlight on his seventh music studio album.

John Legend has sought to tackle more urgent topics and ‘Bigger Love’ has given him room to consider social issues and the Black experience in modern times.

The album has guest stars like Koffee, Rapsody, and Gary Clark Jr. adding to the discussion. There are also love songs on the music album too but Legend has used his timeless voice to convey a greater message and will keep doing so.

The music album has also been getting a lot of attention –

John Legend has Father’s Day plans covered as he asks fans to join his family and friends on Sunday, June 21st for #JohnLegendFathersDay at 8|7c on ABCNetwork. As well as a live music virtual concert experience in collaboration with Wave and benefitting ‘LetsFreeAmerica’ next Thursday, June 25th at 3 pm PT / 6 pm ET.

The K-pop boyband BTS is made up of Suga, Jimin, J-Hope, V, Jungkook, Jin, and RM released ‘Stay Gold’ on Friday, June 19th ahead of their plans release a Japanese music language version of their album ‘Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey’.

Big Hit Entertainment confirmed the release of ‘Stay Gold’ which instantly became a chart-topper in the iTunes song chart. The band broke a virtual attendance record with “Bang Bang Con: The Live.” Which is a show that took place on Sunday afternoon Korean time and was presented by BTS’ management company Big Hit Entertainment with a cloud-based remote production studio Kiswe Mobile from Seoul, South Korea.

‘Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey’ is set to be released next month on July 14th and will be BTS’ first Japanese music album since their 2018 release of ‘Face Yourself’.

These are just a few musicians who have released new music on June 19th with respect for Juneteenth which is a day for observing the end of slavery in the United States.
