Megan Thee Stallion has been taken to hospital after suddenly falling ill during a live performance in New York on Tuesday evening.
The Grammy-winning artist, who recently stepped into the role of Zidler in the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, was forced to exit the stage before the show concluded.
According to her representative, the performer became unwell during the production and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

A spokesperson told Variety: “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated.
“We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”
The Texas-born star only began her stint in the role last week, succeeding RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen in the high-profile production.

Ahead of her Broadway debut, Megan shared her enthusiasm for the new creative challenge, saying: “Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honour.
“I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace.
“Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties [Megan’s name for her fans] to see a new side of me.”

The rapper rose to prominence in 2019 with Hot Girl Summer, her collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign. Her success continued with a string of major hits, including Savage, which featured Beyoncé on a remix, and WAP, her chart-topping collaboration with Cardi B.
In 2021, Megan secured three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, as well as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for the Beyoncé-assisted version of Savage, triumphing over nominees such as Doja Cat and Phoebe Bridgers.
