Matt Hancock Has Tested Positive For The COVID-19

The Prime Minister's official spokesman said: "The prime minister of course follows all of the guidelines which have been issued by Public Health England in full."

The UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed in a tweet that he has also tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and is now self-isolating.

Mr Matt Hancock tweeted: “Following medical advice, I was advised to test for Coronavirus. I’ve tested positive. Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I’m working from home & self-isolating. Vital we follow the advice to protect our NHS & save lives.”

This comes just after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced he has tested positive for COVID-19 virus. The prime minister said on twitter that he had “mild symptoms”.

Thursday night the death toll in the UK increased to 578 people.

Prime minister’s pregnant fiancee, Carrie Symonds, is not living with him in Downing Street at the moment.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “The prime minister of course follows all of the guidelines which have been issued by Public Health England in full.”

He added that “His circumstance is such that he will be required to self-isolate for seven days.”

The spokesman said meals and work would be left at the door of the Prime Minister’s flat.

When asked whether the other ministers have been tested, the spokesman said: “In Number 10 we have been observing the advice on social distancing, We have wherever possible been using video conferencing.”

The spokesman added that he was not aware of any other ministers got tested.

Finally, he added that “if people were to start to display symptoms, then the advice would be that they needed to self-isolate.”
