Mark Ruffalo Condemns Donald Trump At Golden Globes, Calls Him ‘Worst Human Being In The World’

When approached for comment by LADbible and The Independent, representatives for Trump pointed to a recent post by the administration’s director of communications, which read: “Poor thing Mark Ruffalo, star of She-Hulk, is one of the worst actors in the business.

Mark Ruffalo has delivered a fierce political statement at the Golden Globes, admitting that the current climate in the United States made it difficult for him to enjoy the ceremony.

The Marvel actor attended Sunday night’s event in California as a nominee for his role in the crime drama Task. While walking the red carpet, Ruffalo wore a “Be Good” pin in tribute to Renée Nicole Good, who was shot dead by an ICE officer last week.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ruffalo was asked how much fun he expected to have at the awards show. He replied: “It’s usually a lot of fun but… I’ve got to be honest with you, I’m not feeling so great.”

Explaining his mood, the actor said: “We have a woman, Renée Good, who was murdered in the streets of America today, and we’ve got, literally, storm troopers running around terrorising. And as much as I love all this, I don’t know if I can pretend like this crazy stuff isn’t happening.”

Ruffalo, who has long been one of Donald Trump’s most outspoken critics, continued: “We have a president who says that the laws of the world don’t apply to him, and we can rely on his morality… but he has no morality. So where does that leave us? Where does that leave the world?”

He added: “So, I love these people [at the Golden Globes], I love being here, I love you, but also, it’s so hard to pretend anymore. This is crazy what’s happening.”

‘People can’t pay their rent’: Ruffalo on everyday struggles

The actor went on to highlight the cost-of-living pressures facing Americans, saying: “People can’t pay their rent, they can’t buy food, insurance is impossible, they can’t take care of their families and health, there’s no education. I mean, this is not making America better. If it was, I’d be [saying], ‘yeah, great, let’s do it’. But that’s not what’s happening. And we have Americans being shot and killed. A woman in her car.”

Ruffalo added: “I think most Americans want the same thing, they want a little sun on their face, they want to know that their kids are going to be OK, they want to know their kids are going to be safe, they want to be able to pay their rent, they want to be able to know that they’re going to send their kids to get a good education.”

He then said: “But right now, the whole senate, the whole congress has been taken over by corporations. So, who’s there fighting for us now? Nobody! They’ve got us at each other’s throats – the billionaires have got us at each other’s throats, right?

“We’re out there killing each other. You know what the solution is? It’s doing something for the working people, putting all your focus on that.”

“I can’t keep pretending. It’s driving me crazy,” Ruffalo admitted.

Actor brands Trump ‘the worst human being in the world’

Ruffalo echoed similar sentiments in an interview with USA Today, footage of which has since been viewed millions of times on X. Asked about his “Be Good” pin, he said: “This is for Renée Nicole Good who was murdered.”

He then claimed: “We have a vice president who’s lying about what’s happening, we’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded.”

Turning directly to Trump, Ruffalo added: “He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him, the only thing that matters to him is his own morality, but the guy is a convicted felon, a convicted rapist, he’s a paedophile, he’s the worst human being in the world, if we’re relying on this guy’s morality, for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.

“So, this is for her. This is for the people in the United States who are terrorised and scared today. I know I’m one of them. I love this country and what I’m seeing here happening is not America.”

Trump camp responds as past verdicts revisited

When approached for comment by LADbible and The Independent, representatives for Trump pointed to a recent post by the administration’s director of communications, which read: “Poor thing Mark Ruffalo, star of She-Hulk, is one of the worst actors in the business.

“More impressively, he’s an even worse human being by spewing outright lies because deep down inside, he hates himself for knowingly subjecting the public to his god awful performance.”

In 2019, journalist and author E Jean Carroll accused Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her decades earlier. In 2023, Trump was found liable for sexual assault and defamation against Carroll. He later appealed the decision, but the jury’s original verdict was upheld last year.

Trump has not been charged or convicted of any crimes relating to paedophilia.
