Kim Kardashian is taking a moment to contemplate the aftermath of her divorce from Kanye West.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, the 42-year-old reality star candidly confessed to her sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, that she had rushed into a relationship with Pete Davidson shortly after her 2021 divorce from the 46-year-old rapper.
“It got my mind away from stuff and that’s not a way to run from things,” she admitted.
She then adopted a new mantra, sharing with her sisters, “It’s better to deal. Heal…Deal, heal and then feel.”
Despite the controversy surrounding her ex-husband, Kim acknowledged that she didn’t want to view her experiences “negatively.”
“I refuse to carry every bad thing that happened to me into my future,” she explained. “What can I learn from this? How will this experience make me a better person?”
On the previous episode, the mother of four emotionally broke down in front of her sister, Khloé Kardashian, while discussing Kanye’s outbursts.
“It sucks when someone doesn’t see how different they are,” she revealed in a confessional.”I always will keep looking for that person. You’ll always hope you’ll see a glimpse of them, and I hope I do.”
Kim continued, “It’s really confusing for me, it’s so different from the person that I married. That’s who I loved and that’s who I remember. I’ll do anything to get that person back.”
She expressed sympathy for Kanye, adding, “I don’t even think he pities himself because I don’t believe he knows how to. That’s why I’m hesitant to talk to him about his anti semitic online rants; he might lash out at me.”
Back in March 2022, Kim and Kanye finalized their divorce after being married for six years. The former couple began dating in 2011 and welcomed their first daughter, North, 10, in June 2013. They tied the knot in 2014 and later had three more children: Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4.
Following her hosting debut on SNL, Kim started dating Pete Davidson in the fall of 2021, shortly after filing for divorce.
During Kim and Pete’s blossoming relationship, Kanye made several attacks on the couple both online and in the media, including in a music video for his single “Eazy,” where he depicted a claymation version of Pete being kidnapped, tied up, and buried.
In the third season premiere of The Kardashians, Kim expressed feeling “a lot of guilt” after their separation, as she believed that Pete “went through a lot because of my relationship with Kanye.”
