Meghan Markle has been rumoured to be looking for a superhero role in Hollywood films, but it appears a lot of people see the ambition as impossible, including legendary actress Joan Collins.
The former Dynasty star Joan Collins was seen by paparazzi while she was coming out of dinner in Los Angeles with her husband Percy Gibson when she was approached and asked for her thoughts on Meghan’s hunt for a superhero role in Hollywood film. The actress laughs at the question before saying, “You’ve gotta be joking!”
Joan Collins joined the entertainment business since she was nine and trained at RADA before sealing a contract deal with 20th Century Fox.
Joan played a remarkable role of scheming Alexis Carrington in the 1980’s soap opera Dynasty.
The exchange that was posted onto YouTube sparked reactions from social media users with some stating exactly how they feel.
A social media user said, “Got to love Joan.”
Another person replied, “Hollywood thinks Meghan is a joke.”
A third person said, “Meghan laughing stock of Hollywood.”
Joan’s “laughter” about Meghan Markle’s ambition follows The Sun’s news that Meghan wants her agent to bag her a “superhero role in a Hollywood blockbuster film.”
However, Meghan Markle’s agent, Nick Collins, is reportedly busy with the task of trying to secure her an offer.
A source said, “He has said she wants her return to acting to be part of an ensemble cast in something like a superhero film.
“He’s actively seeking such a movie for her. He’s saying she is available and open to the best offers.
“Meghan is planning a series of meetings in Hollywood. She has already done the voiceover for Disney and now the word is out that she’s looking for a superhero film, as a voiceover or even on screen.
“She knows she can’t carry a film as an actress. People won’t be able to get past the fact she’s Meghan Markle.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry, last year was filmed preparing the ground for her work with Disney, at the London premiere of the Lion King.
Prince Harry pointed to his wife and said in hushed tones: “You do know she does voiceovers?”
Mr Iger, looked surprised though, but replies “ah I did not know that”, then Harry continues “you seem surprised, she’s really interested”.
The Disney bigwig says: “We’d love to try. That’s a great idea.”
It has also been rumoured that the Duke and Duchess could possibly sign a deal with Netflix any time soon.
