Chart-topping singer Ellie Goulding has revealed she has welcomed her second child, announcing the birth of a baby girl in a heartfelt message to fans.
The Brit Award-winning star shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon, telling followers that her daughter was born late last week.
Ellie posted: “On Friday, I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl. We are totally obsessed with her. “It was fitting that I spent International Women’s Day with her and the incredible female team at St Mary’s, who provided me and my baby with extraordinary care and kindness. I will always be in awe of midwives.”

The singer said the arrival of her daughter had brought immense happiness to her household.
She described how the newest member of the family had already made a big impression, especially on her son Arthur.
Ellie wrote that the baby “fills me with so much joy”, adding that Arthur had been “so so happy” to become “a big brother to this little angel”.
She also tagged her partner, American actor Beau Minniear, in the post. The pair met while working together on the music video for her song Destiny.
Interestingly, the announcement came on the same day fellow singer Paloma Faith revealed she had also welcomed a child on Friday.
Singer Reflects On Motherhood And Family Life
Ellie is already mother to four-year-old Arthur, who was born in April 2021.
Arthur’s father is the singer’s former husband, Caspar Jopling, whom she was married to from 2019 until 2024.
Speaking about motherhood while guest-editing Marie Claire magazine in 2022, Ellie opened up about the life-changing impact of becoming a parent.

“I never believed people when they said ‘motherhood really changes you’. I thought I’d be a bit tired, have different priorities, but no. It really has changed everything about my life.
“There have been so many chemical hormonal changes that I still can’t even compute. My brain is like a different brain and I’m still trying to figure that out. While I’ve been trying to figure out the changes to my mind and body, I have been spending a lot of time by myself to reconnect and rebalance.”
Ellie Goulding Continued Working Throughout Pregnancy
The British singer first confirmed she was expecting her second child in December 2025 and explained she hoped to remain active professionally during her pregnancy.
Speaking to Nylon in January, she said: “I didn’t want to become just a pregnant woman first. Not every woman has this luxury. I have amazing people around me. I have an amazing boyfriend. I do have it a little easier in that I do have amazing support.”
She added: “I’m still working every day and still writing every day. It’s just that I am growing a human inside me. “I’m perhaps not the most, like, Mother Earth about it, if you know what I mean? It’s a beautiful thing to be able to grow a child, and I feel very lucky that I’m healthy – but it’s not all I am right now.”
