Throughout the weekend, Sheeran performed at both The Chicago Theatre and Soldier Field

Ed Sheeran made a visit to a renowned Chicago eatery that embraces a culture of outspokenness and lighthearted rudeness among its staff.

The 32-year-old British singer-songwriter, amidst his tour across the United States for the + – = ÷ x (“Mathematics”) Tour, took some time to step behind the counter at The Wieners Circle, a popular hotdog stand in Chicago.

Known for its loud and unruly treatment of customers, the iconic restaurant allowed Sheeran to try his hand at serving up Chicago-style hot dogs. Despite the uproar of his adoring fans, the “Thinking Out Loud” singer was not exempt from the playful jabs of the employees.

On Instagram, Sheeran shared a video showcasing an employee enthusiastically announcing, “We’re gonna have Ed Sheeran here at the motherf—-er Wiener’s Circle, and I’m gonna teach that wanker how to make a f—ing hot dog.”

In the amusingly profanity-laden video, the same employee introduces Sheeran to the screaming fans while humorously telling them to “shut the f— up” and jokingly suggesting they “shove [a hotdog] up your a–.”

Amidst the banter, Sheeran, with an infectious smile, distributed hot dogs to the eager fans while the employees continued their humorous barrage of insults.

“Served hot dogs at @wienerscircle today,” he captioned the post.

He added, “This place is legendary [in] Chicago for serving hot dogs and insulting their customers. I loved it. See you at the stadium tonight x.”

The Wieners Circle also joined in on the fun, playfully tweeting a photo of their sign with a clever pun: “Do you want Edchup with that?”

“Our newest trainee @edsheeran⁩ has a lot to learn,” the restaurant jokingly tweeted alongside a photo of Ed grinning behind the counter. “He’s way too proper and friendly.”

Another tweet from The Wieners Circle showed an aerial view of the massive crowd that gathered outside the stand due to Sheeran’s appearance, with the caption, “Yesterday was wild when ⁦@edsheeran⁩ showed up for his shift.”

The following day, Sheeran reflected on his Chicago weekend, writing, “Broke the attendance record at Soldier Field in Chicago this weekend, played a subtract show to a pin-drop silence crowd, got shouted at serving hotdogs, and got a new tattoo.”

He ended the post cryptically, saying, “Autumn is coming, tell a friend x.”

Throughout the weekend, Sheeran performed at both The Chicago Theatre and Soldier Field, where he proudly revealed to the crowd that he had broken the venue’s all-time attendance record.

“Chicago! We’ve broken the ticket record for tonight,” he enthusiastically addressed the audience, according to a tweet from the iconic Illinois venue. “This is the largest concert that’s ever been here. There’s 73,000 of you here tonight! Thank you so much for giving me your Saturday night.”
