Diane Kruger To Be Honored With Golden Eye Award At Zurich Film Festival

The Zurich Film Festival, running from September 28 to October 8, promises to be an exciting and memorable event.

Diane Kruger is all set to be honoured with the prestigious Golden Eye Award at this year’s Zurich Film Festival.

Throughout her illustrious career, Kruger has collaborated with renowned directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Wolfgang Peterson, and Robert Zemeckis. Her portrayals of iconic characters, including Helen of Sparta in “Troy” (2004), Abigail Chase in “National Treasure” (2004) and its sequel “Book of Secrets” (2007), Bridget von Hammersmark in Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” (2009), Anna in “Mr. Nobody” (2009), and Katja in “In the Fade” (2017), have earned her widespread acclaim.

Christian Jungen, the artistic director of Zurich Film Festival, praised Kruger, stating, “Diane Kruger is one of cinema’s most versatile character actresses. She not only immerses herself entirely into each role she undertakes but also infuses her characters with profound depth.”

He also noted her magnetic charisma and enigmatic aura, drawing comparisons to her idol Romy Schneider. Kruger has found success in both French auteur cinema, where she enjoys considerable fame, and Hollywood, where she has captivated audiences in blockbusters like “Troy” and “Inglourious Basterds.”

In recognition of her significant contributions to cinema, the festival is thrilled to welcome her back to Zurich and present her with the Golden Eye award.

During the festival, Kruger’s latest film, “Visions,” a gripping psychological thriller directed by Yann Gozlan, will have its international premiere. In this movie, she plays a married airline captain whose life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters an old flame.

The Golden Eye Award has previously been bestowed upon esteemed individuals such as Eddie Redmayne, Iris Berben, Kristen Stewart, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Malkovich, Helen Hunt, and Olivia Colman.
