For months, the Beckham family has remained in the headlines following reports of a rift involving their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.

On Wednesday morning, David Beckham shared a short birthday message for Brooklyn on social media as he marked his 27th birthday.

The football legend posted a nostalgic photo from Brooklyn’s early childhood, showing the youngster in a swimming pool with both of his parents. Alongside the image, he wrote a brief tribute that read: “Happy birthday Bust… we love you,” accompanied by a tearful emoji.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn addressed the family situation publicly in a series of social media posts. In those messages, he confirmed he was no longer speaking with his parents, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham, accusing them of “performative” and “controlling” behaviour over the course of his “entire life”.

While attending the global summit, the former footballer avoided questions about the family dispute. During a later interview, he spoke about guiding his children as they grow up.

“I’ve tried [with] my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn,” he said.

Social Media Speculation Over Instagram Unfollow Claims

Before Brooklyn’s public statement, reports had circulated suggesting that David and Victoria had unfollowed their son on Instagram.

Brooklyn’s younger brother, Cruz Beckham, responded to those claims online. “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son,” Cruz wrote. “Let’s get the facts right.”

He then alleged: “They woke up blocked… as did I.”

At the time, a representative for Victoria Beckham also addressed the reports, telling People magazine that it was “not true” that she and David had unfollowed Brooklyn.
