A murder investigation is underway after a 55-year-old man was shot dead in Brent, north-west London, on Friday night.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to West End Close at 9.35 pm following reports of a shooting. Emergency first aid was administered to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that the man’s family has been informed. No arrests have been made at this early stage of the investigation.
Brent Shooting Investigation: Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Team and leading the investigation, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim at this incredibly difficult time.”
He added: “Enquiries are well under way, and my team is working at pace to determine the circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death.”
Increased Police Patrols in West End Close Area
DCI John acknowledged concerns within the community following the fatal shooting, saying, “There’s no doubt this incident will cause concern in the local community and more widely, but we have increased patrols in the area. I’d like to reassure the public that our investigation remains a priority.”

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have been in the area at the time.

DCI John said, “I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information, including dashcam footage, that will assist us with our enquiries to contact us at the earliest opportunity.”
He also confirmed police believe several people were nearby when the shooting occurred, adding, “We also believe there was a large group of people congregated nearby at the time the incident happened, and we are keen to hear from them.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
