The 2025 Baftas were packed with glitz, glamour, and plenty of A-list drama, but it was Warwick Davis who stole the show with his deeply moving (and slightly cheeky) acceptance speech.
The Tenable host was honoured with a prestigious Bafta Fellowship award—joining the ranks of Hollywood heavyweights like Sir Ridley Scott, Samantha Morton, and James Bond’s powerhouse producer, Kathleen Kennedy.
After a star-studded introduction by Star Wars legend Mark Hamill and Harry Potter’s own Tom Felton, Warwick took the stage, charming the audience with his signature wit while delivering a heartfelt tribute to his late wife, Samantha.
Love, Loss, and Designer Handbags
With a lump in his throat but a twinkle in his eye, Warwick dedicated his award to his beloved Sammy, who passed away almost a year ago.
“She was always so supportive of my career, encouraging me to grab every opportunity with both hands,” he shared, pausing before dropping a classic Davis zinger.
“However, I soon noticed that her level of enthusiasm for me taking a particular role was often relative to how much she wanted that new designer handbag.”
Cue laughter (and tears) from the star-studded audience. But the emotion didn’t stop there. Warwick opened up about the difficult months since Samantha’s passing, revealing that their children, Annabelle and Harrison, have been his pillars of strength.

“Since then, life has been pretty tough for me,” he admitted. “But thanks to the support of our wonderful children, I’ve been able to continue working and engaging in life.”
A Love Story for the Ages
Samantha Davis wasn’t just Warwick’s partner in life—she was his biggest champion. The talented actress and founder of Little People UK passed away in March 2024, leaving an indelible mark on both her family and the entertainment industry.
Reflecting on their love story, Warwick reminisced about their first meeting on the set of Willow in 1988, where sparks flew faster than a Hollywood rom-com.

Three years later, they tied the knot, proving that some fairy tales do come true. “Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family,” he said, his voice heavy with emotion. “I miss her hugs.”
As the Bafta audience wiped their eyes (while probably checking if their mascara was running), it was clear that Warwick’s speech was more than just an acceptance—it showed love, laughter, and the magic of finding someone who truly gets you.
