As speculations grew towards Alok Sharma after his worrying behaviour during his address on the Corporate Insolvency and Government Bill. The Business Secretary saw it fit to test for the coronavirus, and confirmed to be negative.
It was reported yesterday that the business secretary Alok Sharma was experiencing and exhibiting concerning behaviour during a briefing at Downing Street. This prompted the Business Secretary to immediately seek testing for the coronavirus.
The Business Secretary was shown to be excessively wiping his face, removing his glasses to rub his eyes and proved to be sweating uncontrollably for a period of time during his address.
Alok Sharma was then encouraged to self-isolate after having gone through with the testing procedure, during this time there were growing speculations that the Business Secretary may have contracted the virus, and potentially put many other MP’s at risk seeing that they were all confined within one space for a period of time during the Downing Street briefing.
Mr Sharma, however has since tested negative for the coronavirus and has placed many at ease after confirming that he indeed does not have the virus. In a tweet Mr Sharma gave thanks to those who sent their well-wishes and parliamentary authorities for the support, then proceeded to state his negative status for the coronavirus.
The multiple speculations were compounded by outrage from parliamentary figures who have since called for virtual meetings to continue amongst political bodies due to the risks that come with large groups of people being confined to one space as the coronavirus is transmitted through such conditions.
