Alicia Keys’ 8-Year-Old Son, Genesis, Guards Her On Stage During Concert Amidst Recent Unruly Behaviours By Concertgoers

The concern displayed by Genesis comes after several recent incidents of celebrities being hit by flying objects while on stage.

If you desire to approach Alicia Keys, you’ll need to go through her son first.

The 42-year-old “Girl on Fire” songstress discovered an unexpected pint-sized bodyguard in the form of her 8-year-old son, Genesis. During a recent concert, he fearlessly took to the stage to protect his mom from unruly concertgoers who thought it appropriate to throw things at performers.

The situation caught the attention of Tracee Ellis Ross, who commented, “This is so hilarious and also not funny at all. People have lost their minds.”

Bia also chimed in with a comment: “😭😂 he not playing bout his momma OK!!!! Just Know that!!!!”

This isn’t the first time Genesis has stepped up to safeguard his mom. A video shared by Alicia Keys showed a sweet exchange between her and her son just before a performance. As she prepared, wearing a cropped, sheer button-down shirt with heart-shaped pasties instead of a bra, Genesis expressed concern.

“Are you really going to do this, Mom?” he wondered.

“What’s wrong?” Alicia asked, and he replied, “The heart,” referring to the heart-shaped pasties.

“It’s cool,” Alicia reassured him.

“So everybody can see your boobs?” he said in shock. She reiterated, “They can’t, they just see a heart.”

“I’ve never seen somebody do that,” the boy replied.

“Well, you’re only 8,” she said, demonstrating the motion they’d be seen in during her choreography. Genesis then offered some tips, suggesting she drop down into squats and clap before jumping back up.

“It’s not a big deal. It’s boobs. Everyone has boobs,” she concluded as the video ended.

The concern displayed by Genesis comes after several recent incidents of celebrities being hit by flying objects while on stage. Harry Styles, for instance, was pelted in the eye by a fan with a flying object during his Love on Tour show in Vienna earlier this month. He quickly crouched to the ground, covering his face with his hand, and then continued his performance despite being hit.

This incident was not isolated, as other stars like Bebe Rexha, Drake, Kelsea Ballerini, Steve Lacy, Kid Cudi, Cardi B and Pink have all endured similar encounters with concertgoers throwing objects toward or at them during their performances.
