Despite being in a relationship with Joe Alwyn at the time, the singer described herself as a “lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair.” This candid confession immediately caught the attention of her fans, both in the audience and online.
Swift revealed that she wrote her surprise albums, Folklore and Evermore, during this period of isolation.
In a video shared by a fan, she humorously shared, “[I was] imagining that, instead of being a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine, I was a ghostly Victorian lady wandering through the woods with a candle in a candlestick holder, and I wrote only on parchment with a feathered quill. That was in my mind, what I thought I looked like writing ‘Folklore’.”
While Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were together during quarantine, their romance eventually came to an end in early 2023. Despite the speculation surrounding their relationship, Swift has never publicly addressed it. However, fans believe that her upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” may offer insights into their six-year romance.
Although Swift has remained tight-lipped about her personal life, she did mention in an interview with TIME that she has become more trusting over the years. Reflecting on her past, she admitted, “Life is short. Have adventures. Me locking myself away in my house for a lot of years — I’ll never get that time back. I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”
Currently on the Australian leg of her highly successful Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has been performing for some of the largest crowds of her career.
