The New York judge presiding over the Trump Organization trial has imposed a partial gag order in response to a social media post by former President Trump.
Judge Arthur Engoron issued the order on Tuesday, applying to both the defense and the New York Attorney General Letitia James’ team.

The gag order specifically prohibits any verbal attacks against court staff. Judge Engoron’s decision came after a defendant made a disparaging and untrue post about a member of his staff on social media.
While not directly naming the former president, Judge Engoron was referring to a now-deleted post on Trump’s Truth Social account.
In the post, Trump alleged that a law clerk in Judge Engoron’s office had a relationship with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
The judge emphasized that personal attacks on court staff are unacceptable and warned that they would not be tolerated.
The order was issued during the second day of the non-jury civil trial of Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization.
The trial is a result of a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, alleging that Trump inflated his assets and engaged in fraudulent practices when building his business empire.

Throughout the trial, Trump has been present in the Lower Manhattan courtroom for the proceedings.
