In just his second game as a professional, Puka Nacua, the talented rookie wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, has already etched his name in the history books of the National Football League.
After an impressive debut in Week 1, Nacua proved that his stellar performance was no fluke.
Selected in the fifth round of the NFL draft this past April, Nacua showcased his skills against the Seattle Seahawks, recording an impressive 10 catches for 119 yards. Little did we know that he was just getting started.
This past Sunday, Nacua took his game to another level and set a new rookie record. Facing off against the San Francisco 49ers, Nacua had an astonishing 15 receptions out of 20 targets.
This incredible feat not only helped his team secure a victory, but it also solidified his place in NFL history. Nacua’s 15 catches in a single game surpassed the previous record held by Roy Helu, Saquon Barkley, and Najee Harris.
As the game progressed, it became clear that Nacua had developed a special connection with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford continuously looked to Nacua as his go-to receiver, and Nacua did not disappoint.
His precise route running, exceptional hands, and ability to create separation from defenders made him an unstoppable force on the field.
