Democrats Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush, both members of the “Squad,” used the Fourth of July to take the opportunity to criticize the US.

“This July 4th, we must remember that we stand on stolen land toiled by enslaved Africans and recommit ourselves to the fight for freedom, equality, & justice so that these ideals are accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few.”

Bowman, who represents a New York district, tweeted Tuesday. “We are not free until everyone is truly free.”

“The Declaration of Independence was written by enslavers and didn’t recognize Black people as human,” Missouri’s Bush tweeted. “Today is a great day to demand Reparations Now.”

“Relentless” podcast host and Becker News CEO Kyle Becker responded to Bush: “You’re a liar. The Founders penalized the southern states because those future Democrats wanted to keep slaves. They also banned the importation of slaves for twenty years.

The Founders from northern states began taking steps to ban slavery immediately, preventing them from being legal in the Northwest territories. They did more to emancipate slaves than any political leaders in the history of mankind up to that point in history.”
