The political tide is turning for the former president of the United States, Donald Trump as Raffensperger challenges him to debate.
Once thought to be immune to challengers due to his large, devoted voter base, Trump now faces increasing criticism from Republican opponents and party leaders.

Since his second indictment, 2024 GOP candidates who had previously avoided naming him and condemned any of his actions are now lining up to highlight his flaws.
However, it goes beyond the primary contenders. Brad Raffensperger is the Republican secretary of state for Georgia. On Jan. 2, 2021, in a recorded conference call, Trump pressed Raffensperger to overturn the results of the 2020 election. The one-hour phone call sparked a criminal investigation in Fulton County, and a decision regarding charges is anticipated this summer.
At his rallies, Trump has frequently criticized Raffensperger. On Saturday, for instance, he referred to it as a “perfect” call once more and made unsubstantiated claims regarding the election. The Georgia crowd ultimately booed Raffensperger as a result.
Raffensperger is responding now. On Thursday, he told WRBL it might be time for him and Trump to meet on the debate stage.
Raffensperger also doesn’t care which debate stage is used. He is pledging to attend any Republican institute, including Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy in Texas, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California, or The Dole Institute of Politics in Kansas.
“We’ll have a debate,” Raffensperger said. “I’ll bring a copy of my letter to Congress, and I’ll bring a copy of my book, “Integrity Counts.”
He said the former president could bring a report from the two firms the Trump campaign hired to investigate allegations of voter fraud in Georgia: Simpatico Software Systems and the Berkeley Research Group Berkeley and Simpatico did not find any evidence that fraud was widespread.
The Georgia secretary of state stated, “We’ll debate the issues point by point” because the facts are on Raffensperger’s side.

Trump’s willingness to participate in that debate is uncertain and unlikely. Despite threatening to skip the primary debates in recent months, he has not even committed to debating his GOP rivals in 2024.
His thinking is to some degree since he’s the leader and doesn’t have to and in light of the fact that he thinks the settings and organizations aren’t great for him.
