Alienware began operations in a garage near Miami 25 years ago, and the Dell-owned brand is commemorating the occasion with a stylish gaming PC. The most recent Aurora system has a redesigned chassis with more internal space and more efficient airflow, as well as the ability to run more quietly.

According to Alienware, the open-air Legend 2.0 chassis increases internal volume by 50% compared to the Aurora R12 or R10 without affecting overall machine size. You won’t need any tools to open the shell, giving you easier access to the components.

There’s an optional transparent side panel that lets you see inside the motherboard, which is lit up with up to eight zones of AlienFX lighting. Furthermore, Alienware provides an optional magnetic cable cover to keep the back of the system tidy.

Alienware focused on improving airflow as part of the redesign. Each system has two 120mm fans, one for intake and one for exhaust. Alienware may include one or two more fans, depending on the configuration: a second intake and, if necessary, a top exhaust. Because this is an Aurora system, there are also liquid cooling options.

In addition to keeping your system cool while running games at maximum settings, Alienware claims the fans can make the PC quieter. When compared to the previous generation system, the brand claims that the new Aurora is up to 16% quieter when idle and up to 9% quieter during CPU-intensive tasks.
