Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba has dropped a subtle suggestion that he could rejoin Juventus as rumours continue to trail the Frenchman’s future at Old Trafford, SurgeZirc UK reports.
Pogba has spent the last five years with the Red Devils having staged a sensational return in 2016 in a record-breaking £89 million ($121m) deal.
The 28-year-old, during a four-year stint with the Old Lady evolved into one of the best midfield talents in Europe after he left Manchester United in 2012.
However, Pogba has struggled to find consistency in England as speculations continue to intensify over a possible move away from Old Trafford.
The mercurial midfielder is currently with the French national team on international duty and was instrumental as France edged Belgium 3-2 in a pulsating UEFA Nations League victory at the Allianz Stadium on Thursday.
Asked whether he was open to the possibility of rejoining the Bianconeri in a post-match interview by Sport Mediaset, Pogba said: “I always talk with my former teammates at Juventus, [Juan] Cuadrado, [Paulo] Dybala… Now I’m a Man Utd player, I still have a year on my contract, then we will see.
“I want to finish the season well there, then we’ll see.”
Quizzed on whether he feels good whenever he returns to Turin, Pogba added: “Yes, of course!”
His refusal to dismiss a possible return to Juventus comes on the heels of an earlier suggestion by his agent, Mino Raiola, who said his client is positively poised at the prospect of rejoining the Old Lady.
However, Italian agent, who has fanned the flames of Pogba’s transfer rumours expressed doubts about Juventus’s openness to a deal at this time.
“Paul Pogba is out of contract in June, so we’ll talk with Manchester and we’ll see what happens,” Raiola said to Rai Sport. “Turin is still in his heart. There’s a chance that Pogba will return to Juventus, but it also depends on Juventus.”
Pogba will look to add to his World Cup tally with Les Bleus on Sunday when France clash with Spain at the final of the Nations League before joining his Manchester United teammates for the Premier League encounter against Leicester City on October 16.
It is believed that Manchester United will press Pogba for an answer on a possible renewal after initially submitting an extension offer in July.
