Trump Campaign Assures It Will Appeal Dismissal Of Election Lawsuit In Pennsylvania

“Judge Brann, who would not even allow us to present our case or evidence, is a product of Senator Pat ‘No Tariffs’ Toomey of Pennsylvania, no friend of mine, & Obama – No wonder,” Trump said on Twitter.

President Trump’s legal team has filed a lawsuit to appeal a federal judge’s ruling that canceled the campaign’s move to stop votes in Pennsylvania from being certified on the basis of voting irregularities.

Trump campaign lawyers filed a notice of appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on Sunday, only a day before Pennsylvania’s 67 counties were set to certify their results and send them to state officials.

Judge Matthew Brann reportedly dismissed the campaign’s lawsuit on Saturday.

The suit submitted by the Trump campaign sought to nullify millions of ballots in the Keystone State, saying election officials in main Democratic counties violated the equal protection clause under the Constitution by allowing voters to fix mail-in ballots that had problems, meanwhile, Republican counties had not alerted voters about faulty ballots.

However, Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar and the seven counties that the campaign sued debunked the claim saying that Trump had previously raised a similar allegation and lost.

Brann in his ruling said he “has no authority to take away the right to vote of even a single person, let alone millions of citizens.”

Brann then issued an order permitting Pennsylvania to go ahead with certifying its election results, which show Joe Biden winning the state by more than 80,000 votes.

Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis welcomed the suit’s dismissal in a statement late Saturday, clarifying that doing so will allow them to get the case to the US Supreme Court more quickly.

“Today’s decision turns out to help us in our strategy to get expeditiously to the US Supreme Court,” the legal team said in a statement.

President Trump also slammed Brann in a tweet late Saturday, saying, “It’s all a continuation of the never ending Witch Hunt.”
