After working with the White House on criminal justice reform two years ago, many were left questioning why Kim Kardashian had tied in with Trump.
The question was brought up again in an interview on the new season of Netflix`s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction by the host, David Letterman. The 39-year-old reality star and makeup mogul worked closely with the Trump administration to grant clemency to Alice Marie Johnson.
She had spent 20 years in of her life sentence in prison and Kim stepped up to help.
In her interview with the 73-year-old TV personality, Kim shared how she was warned by many people to avoid working with the Trump administration as it would affect her career.
“Trust me, everyone called me and said, ‘Don’t you dare step foot in that White House or your reputation is done. And I said, ‘I have to step foot in there or these people’s lives don’t have a chance`”, she said.
Kim added, “Hopefully, for the next multiple administrations, I’ll be working with the White House, helping them with clemencies.”
In response to Kim, David said: “But see, your good work is overwhelming. It’s a positive force that diminishes what I consider to be unacceptable behaviour by the president.”
Kim also made it clear that she is determined to “stay focused” and she said “I know who I’m voting for,” but did not specifically state who.
