From facing the British cold weather and staying in a haunted castle, the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ cast would never have guessed that they would have seagulls attacking them as well.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been warned that there are seagull ‘muggings’ taking place at the Welsh castle where the series will be held this year.
Reports have come that the Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales, has recently been tormented by troublesome seagulls, where the locals have had their food snatched straight from their hands and it’s said that postal workers have also been attacked.
Conwy Council confirmed to The Daily Star that they were getting “more and more complaints of seagulls ‘mugging’ people for food”.
They added that: “in some cases, this had led to physical injury.”
A spokeswoman at nearby Abergele Golf Course by the castle also told The Daily Star: “I bought two ice creams and a seagull swooped down and stole one from me. It’s quite frightening.”
The new series of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ will be taking place at the ruined castle after the Covid-19 global pandemic meant that it could no longer take place in Australia where it is usually filmed.
The cold weather may impact celebrities taking part more than facing the ‘paranormal activity’ of the castle, though now having the threat of seagulls attacking them over their food could add to dampening their mood in addition to the various traumatic trials they usually face on the show.
Despite all of this, there are still plenty of celebrities that are said to be in the running for a place in the show, though no one officially has been named yet. Let’s hope the cast is ready to face all these new challenges.
