The Queen is now in-charge of the talks concerning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent decision to step aside as front-line members of the royal family. The 93-year-old Queen of England was said to be “disappointed” by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s announcement early this week that they will quit royal life and go search for job.

The Queen has ordered palace workers to work out Meghan and Harry’s new slimmed-back duties in the family from the time of the instruction and before the end of 72 hours. She also instructed senior courtiers to find “opportunity out of crisis”.

A source close to the royal family revealed to the Daily Telegraph: “Let no one be under any illusions, the Queen is calling the shots on this.”

The Queen is looking to have the whole matter resolved at least by the end of Tuesday. Recall that this is the same time as was seen last year between Prince Andrew’s disastrous Newsnight interview and his retirement from all royal duties six days later.

The palace was lit on fire earlier this week when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry posted  their plans to quit royal life on social media.

The post which dropped on Instagram like a bomb and indeed exploded reads: “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent.”

The most disappointing part of the announcement seem to be that Her royal majesty the Queen was not consult in a private discussion before going all out to the public. Right now, efforts are on to work out how to unpick the Sussexes from the royal net.

The Daily Telegraph also learnt: “In getting this right, you are not only solving a conundrum for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex but others further down the line of succession for years to come, including Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.”
