After a public statement by a Westworld star alleging Marilyn Manson of abuse, several women came forward with similar allegations.
In an Instagram post, Evan Rachel Wood opened up about how Manson groomed her as a teen, “brainwashed and manipulated her into submission”. Following the allegations, at least ten more women claimed there were also victims of the musician`s abuse dating back several years.
The abuse allegations against the 52-year-old rockstar add on to his 1998 autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell where he detailed alarming urges to “kill”.
In the novel, Manson whose real name is Brian Warner confessed that he almost killed a woman during a bondage stunt.
Wood, 33, who was engaged to Manson for eight months in 2010 had revealed she was an abuse victim before but had never published the name of her abuser.
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years,” she wrote.
“I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
Former porn star Jenna Jameson said the rocker would hit her during sex and fantasised about burning her alive when they dated back in 1997.
Sarah McNeilly claimed that she was “abused, terrorized and scarred” by a man “posing as the perfect boyfriend” – even describing his chilly home as “the meat locker”. “I want to see Brian held accountable for his evil,” the model added.
However, Marilyn has denied the allegations in a statement on Instagram.
“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” he wrote.
“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
