As thousands of Trump supporters flocked to the Capitol Building to protest against Joe Biden`s election victory a woman was gunned down.

The female protester, Ashli Babbit who was a 14-year Air force veteran died after sustaining a bullet wound to the chest. On Tuesday morning she had tweeted: “Nothing will stop us….they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours….dark to light!”

Two men and another woman also died in the area around the Capitol raising the death toll in the US Capitol Riots to four. It has been confirmed three of the victims were “medical emergencies” but their names have not been released yet.

Washington police chief Robert Contee told reporters: “Each of the three appeared to have suffered medical emergencies which resulted in their deaths.” 52 people were arrested for curfew violations, unlawful entry and weapons charges.

A number of officials slammed Donald Trump for the “shameful” riots conducted by his supporters in Washington DC.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said: “This will be a stain on our country not so easily washed away. The final, terrible, indelible legacy of the 45th president of the United States, undoubtedly the worst.”

Former President Barack Obama took to Twitter to slam Donald Trump for his role in the Capitol riots.

Following the Capitol building attack by violent rioters, Melania Trump`s White House chief of staff Stephanie Grisham resigned.

It has been an honour to serve the country in the White House,” Ms Grisham said. “I am very proud to have been a part of Mrs Trump’s mission to help children everywhere and proud of the many accomplishments of this administration.”
