Millions of staunch ‘Rejoiners’ are plotting a desperate plan to drag the UK back into the European Union only a few days after the country fully walked away from the bloc after a 47-years relationship.
A new Rejoin Campaign group was launched on Saturday, and its Twitter account as at the time of writing this story has 9,389 active followers.
In The Rejoin Campaign Twitter account, the description says, “Welcome to Rejoin Campaign, proposing a campaign for the UK to rejoin the European Union. No group, party, organisation or commercial interest is behind this account.
“It’s run by someone of no particular significance, other than being pro-EU. Its only value is in its followers.”
The Rejoin Campaign on Sunday shared a poll on Twitter, asking its followers how kin “we should aim to get the UK back into the EU in the next, with options of, 5, 10 or 15 years.
Reaction from followers shows the target is for rejoiners to head back to the EU immediately with one person replying, “Campaign for immediate #RejoinEU this will produce victories along the way like customs union and access to single market making a path to #RejoinEU.
“If we settle for 5 years then the can be kicked down the road. Nothing less than #RejoinEU as soon as possible.
Another said, “I would love to be wrong but don’t think I am. I hope we can rejoin in less time and hopefully move closer to the EU in the meantime but there is no way under the Tories as they’re only interested in lining their own pockets.”
“I’m an avid supporter of EU and the European ideal and wish we had never left. All this assumes the EU would want us back,” another rejoiner said.
