Former President Barack Obama’s new book “A Promised Land” has an edge over his wife Michelle’s Obama’s record-breaking book “Becoming” in terms of first-day sales.
The Obama’s memoir, “A Promised Land,” which was released Tuesday, sold an amazing 887,000 copies in its first 24 hours sales. The number edged the 725,000 copies sold of the former first lady’s 2018 “Becoming,” on the first-day sale.
The Obamas entered a deal estimated to worth over $60 million with Penguin Random House in 2017. Meanwhile, Michelle’s book was the best-selling volume of 2018 and maintained the position as the best-seller for more than a year, with sales later crossing 10 million as at March 2019.
Barack Obama’s book has actually sold more than any book released by any White House resident on a first day sale.
