Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has mocked US President Donald Trump’s administration by saying US citizen has chosen ‘intergrity over dishonesty’ by voting for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden as the next president.
The Labour leader also claimed Mr Biden’s election victory paves the way to reset the partnership between the US and the UK.
Sir Starmer made the declaration not minding that Mr Biden had previously slammed the Labour party for moving “so, so far to the left” when the party declared support for Brexit.
Sir Keir Starmer statement comes as congratulations continues to pour in from world leaders in favour of Mr Biden whose opponent Trump appears to be preparing to fight in court for what he called “election malpractice“.
Sir Starmer said, “He ran a campaign on the values that we in the United Kingdom share decency, integrity, compassion and strength.”
Sir Starmer, however, claimed that the US Democrats, as well as Biden, “have always shared Labour’s values and the links between our two parties remain strong.”
While speaking on the BBC’s Andrew Marr show, Starmer said Labour and the Democrats as “sister parties in a sense”
