Fans are going wild over new reports which state that Lily James and Harry Styles might be starring in the adaptation of Bethan Roberts’ novel ‘My Policeman’.
According to Deadline, Amazon Studios won the bid to produce the new movie with Michael Grandage as the director and they are wanting the actress and singer to be the stars.
The movie will be adapted by Oscar-nominee Ron Nyswaner, and Amazon will be working jointly with Berlanti Schechter Productions.
Released in 2012 ‘My Policeman’ is a novel set in Brighton in the late 1950s, which focuses on a police officer named Tom Burgess who is gay but decided to marry a schoolteacher named Marion because homosexuality was illegal during that era.
Tom then becomes involved with a man named Patrick, but Marion is in love with Tom and becomes jealous of their passionate affair. She decides to take things into her own hands by doing something drastic.
It is assumed that Lily James would star as Marion and Harry Styles would star as Tom in this upcoming novel adaptation that is set to begin production in 2021.
The former One Direction singer made his acting debut in the 2017 film ‘Dunkirk’, but fans wanted to know when his next acting project would be and it seems as though they have been answered.
It was also revealed earlier this month that Harry has replaced Shia LaBeouf as the star of the upcoming thriller titled ‘Don’t Worry, Darling’.
Harry’s co-stars for the film include Chris Pine and Florence Pugh, who had both signed on to the movie earlier this year.
‘Don’t Worry, Darling’ will be directed by Olivia Wilde, and is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert.
