BBC One’s ‘The Pursuit of Love’ released its first look images of the cast which includes Lily James and Andrew Scott looking stylish, though the series will only premiere in 2021.
The series adaptation of ‘The Pursuit of Love’ is written and directed by Emily Mortimer and is said to be a romantic comedy-drama that is about friendship and love.
It is based on Nancy Mitford’s 1945 celebrated novel of the same name and set in Europe between the two World Wars. The storyline follows the lives of Linda Radlett, played by Lily James, and her best friend and cousin Fanny Logan, played by Emily Beecham.
Both are consumed by a desire for love and marriage, but then pair’s friendship is put to the test when Fanny decides that she wants to settle down for a steady life while Linda follows her heart and pursues a life of partying in ‘wild and outrageous’ places around the world.
As social and political divisions split the nation, Linda and Fanny’s choices raise personal questions about freedom, love, sex, as well as the human heart.
