Tyra Banks has received some negative comments about her debut as host of ‘Dancing With The Stars’, as many viewers seemed to want Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews back on the show.
On Monday evening the show premiered its 29th season and fans of the long-running celebrity dancing competition took to Twitter to share how they felt about the supermodel replacing Tom and Erin.
Most of the tweets had the viewers asking for the return of hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews. Tom had been with the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ franchise since it had launched in 2005.
While his former co-host Erin joined the show in 2014, they were both canned from the show in July this year.
‘Dancing With The Stars’ fans had accused Tyra Banks of making the new season ‘all about her’. One fan tweeted: “Tyra Banks has to realize this show is not about her. I miss Tom.”

While another wrote: “The problem [with] Tyra Banks as host is that you’ve replaced the heart of the show.”
“Nothing against her, but it just sounds so off when you hear her voice instead of Tom Bergeron’s. On a year where people WANT comfort of the familiar… it’s just a really poor decision. #DWTS” – They added.

Even with the negativity online, Tyra Banks looked as though she was in her element as she guided everyone through the season premiere on Monday night.
Tyra gave it her all as she engaged in laugh-filled banter with the celebrity contestants, coaches, and judges while keeping up with the show’s fast-paced format.
In a recent interview with NPR, the supermodel had shared that she felt nervous ‘stepping into [Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews] shoes’ on the new season.
“I think the challenge is stepping into shoes. I mean, you know, Tom Bergeron and Erin. They lead the show, this is one of the top-rated shows in the world.” – She explained.
The supermodel added: “So [I’m] respecting the stage that they have set and then adding my icing to that.”
The season 29 premiere saw 15 contestants and their pro partners performing, which included the likes of Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause and Tiger King’s Carole Baskin.
